the sunroof open on a warm spring day
it’s a home run flying straight into a summer sunset
it is the glimpse of a shooting star on a clear night’s sky
Happiness is
an unexpected hug from a joyous child
it’s a campfire surrounded by thoughtful friends
it is a sip of champagne with an ocean view
Happiness is
the coo of a baby sleeping in grandma’s arms
it’s the candlelight of Christmas Eve
it is fireworks planned for the stroke of midnight
to kick off a brand-new year
Happiness is
the journey you take and the friends who accompany you
it is unexpected moments of carefree spendor
strung together with the contentment of knowing
that in the end, this will be enough
