Our Holy Triune God,

At the core of our diversity is unity,

and at the core of our discord is covenant.

As you exist — three-in-one — and are greater

because of your variety of expressions,

so too are we made stronger in our infinite variety —

of perspectives and opinions,

of experiences and expressions.

Root us now in our commitment

to create unity once again

through our covenant, with each other and with You.

Remind us that You are the Love that flows among us

as the Creator who made our vibrant diversity

as the Redeemer who reconciles us to one another

and as the Sustainer who creates community among us.

We pray in Your Holy Name. Amen.

  1. Good afternoon, Cathy.

The prayer you send out in this latest email is beautiful and timely. Thank you for including me in your email sent to many.

I take this opportunity to say that I am concluding that your silence regarding my request for written permission to use two paragraphs of your essay/story entitled “Redemption” and published 19 years ago in *The Sun* is a “no” to my request. I emailed twice the relevant materials for your perusal, the second time being last Monday. I respect your wishes and will not quote it nor cite your name in my forthcoming book. I wish you much fruit in Christ Jesus in your various ministries.
