I have a lot of passions. Which makes for lots of writing. I will write about art, church, and trends in the world around me. Some of my writing centers around being a white parent to a biracial child. I write mostly to process my thoughts, to process the world, to process what it means to be a mother, and sometimes to process my exegetical work.

My writing can seem a bit all over the place, on the surface at least. But I think the chord that runs through it all…. that ties the randomness together… is a deep sense of dignity and worth for all of humanity rooted in my image of God. Other than that, here are some loose categories for my writings:

Sometimes, I write midrash (which is a Jewish storytelling technique for scripture interpretation):

A Midrash on Babel.

A Midrash on Creation.

Esau in Midrash for 2020.

Illuminating a Word, Made Flesh.

Sometimes, I write about BIAS:

On Bias, A Prologue

On Bias, part 1

On Bias, part 2

On Bias, part 3

On Bias, part 4

Sometimes I write about cultural issues like abortion, race, and sexism:

Don’t eat hot takis behind a dumpster.

The Power of A Catwalk

An Argumentative Thesis

Breath is Life.

And sometimes I write about Christmas (just for fun):

Santa is a Sacrament.

Embodying the Light.
